Can you imagine a world where everyone has the other person's best interest at heart? No pushing or shoving to be first in line. No maligning someone's character so you can get ahead at the job. No getting stuck with an item the salesperson said was best for you but didn't really mean it. Though these are trivial examples, the Word of God tells us in Philippians 2:3-11, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." (vs 3-4) Our attitude should be that of Christ Jesus as exemplified in verses 5 -11. Just think of this servant attitude. He, being God willingly lowering Himself to be a servant to others. Not only to serve the physical needs of others but to willingly die on a cross to redeem us from our sinful fate. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession to the praise of His glory."  Ephesians 1:13-14 Besides being a faith builder, the Word of God also gives us great comfort and assurance. In Ephesians 1:13-14, we learn that when we hear and believe the gospel we are "marked in Him with a seal of the promised Holy Spirit, a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance." I love these two definitions.  1. Seal: A device or substance (Holy Spirit) that is used to join two things together so as to prevent them from coming apart or to prevent anything from passing between them." 2.
